About Lighthouse Behavioral

Lighthouse Behavioral was founded on the belief that every child deserves access to high-quality, evidence-based ABA therapy delivered by dedicated professionals who genuinely care about their progress. Our story began with observation, frustration with the status quo, and a determination to build something better.

Our Team

Our team began with a simple but powerful observation: families struggling to navigate ABA services often felt confused, overwhelmed, and unsure about the quality of care their children were receiving. Some had experienced poor communication, inconsistent services, or therapy that didn’t seem tailored to their child’s unique needs. Insurance navigation was frustrating. Finding qualified professionals was difficult. The experience of accessing ABA—something that should be empowering—was often draining.

We created Lighthouse Behavioral to change that narrative. We wanted to be the guiding light families need as they explore autism therapy options. We wanted to create an organization where quality was never compromised, where families were true partners, and where children received truly individualized, evidence-based care.

Our Mission: To provide compassionate, scientifically-grounded ABA therapy that helps children reach their full potential while supporting families through every step of the journey.

Our Values

Practice

Every intervention is rooted in peer-reviewed research and BACB guidelines. We don’t implement strategies because they’re popular or trendy—we implement them because research shows they work. Our treatment decisions are data-driven, not opinion-driven.

Family Partnership

Parents are not just recipients of services; they are integral partners in treatment planning and implementation. We listen to family priorities, involve parents in goal-setting, train parents as co-therapists, and value their expertise about their child. Family involvement is not just nice to have—it’s essential.

Individual Dignity

We treat each child and family as unique, with respect and cultural sensitivity. We don’t apply cookie-cutter approaches. We conduct thorough assessments, understand each child’s strengths and challenges, and design interventions specific to them. We respect family culture, values, and preferences in how we deliver services.

Continuous Improvement

Our team commits to ongoing learning, skill development, and clinical excellence. The field of behavior analysis evolves constantly. We stay current with research, attend training and conferences, reflect on outcomes, and adjust our practices when evidence suggests better approaches. We’re never satisfied with “good enough.”

Accessibility

Quality ABA therapy should be available and affordable for all families who need it. We work with insurance, offer flexible payment options, provide sliding scale services when needed, and never let financial circumstances prevent a family from accessing care. Barriers to access are unacceptable to us.

Ethical Practice

We maintain the highest ethical standards. We prioritize client welfare, maintain confidentiality, practice only within our competence, supervise appropriately, and conduct ourselves with integrity. Ethical practice is non-negotiable.

Our Team

Our clinicians include Board Certified Behavior Analysts with advanced degrees in behavior analysis, special education, psychology, and related fields. Many have 10+ years of clinical experience. We also employ highly trained RBTs who are passionate about making a difference in children’s lives.

What makes our team special isn’t just credentials—it’s character. We hire for compassion as much as competence. We hire people who genuinely care about children, who are patient with slow progress, who celebrate small wins enthusiastically, and who see families as partners not problems.

Our team includes clinicians who’ve worked with children across the entire autism spectrum—from nonverbal children with significant support needs to highly verbal teenagers with subtle social challenges. We’ve treated children with intellectual disability, developmental delays, behavioral challenges, and complex presentations. We’ve learned what works, what doesn’t, and how to adapt approaches for different children.

Beyond our direct care team, we maintain relationships with leading ABA providers and training organizations to ensure we stay current with best practices. We believe in the power of collaboration. Whether that’s with families, pediatricians, educators, or other ABA centers like Flywheel ABA Centers and Children’s Specialized ABA, we work together to support children’s success.

Our Approach

1

🔍 Assessment First

We never jump to treatment without thorough assessment. We conduct functional behavior assessments, skill evaluations, preference assessments, and detailed interviews. This comprehensive foundation ensures we understand each child deeply and design interventions accurately.

2

📋 Individualized Treatment Plans

Based on assessment findings and family input, we develop specific, measurable, meaningful treatment plans. Each plan is tailored to the child's strengths, challenges, learning style, and family priorities. Cookie-cutter approaches don't work.

3

📊 Data-Driven Decision Making

We measure progress objectively through systematic data collection. We analyze this data regularly and adjust treatment based on what the data shows. If something isn't working, we change it. If something is working well, we refine it.

4

👨‍👩‍👧 Parent Involvement

Research consistently shows that parent involvement is one of the strongest predictors of success. We actively engage parents as co-therapists, providing coaching, training, and support. We communicate regularly about progress and challenges. We involve parents in all major decisions.

5

🏫 Consistency Across Settings

We work to ensure children's ABA services are coordinated with school, other therapies, and family routines. Children learn best when strategies are consistent across settings. We collaborate with schools, communicate with other providers, and help families maintain consistency.

6

❤️ Compassionate Implementation

While we're rigorous about treatment, we're also warm and human. We celebrate progress enthusiastically. We acknowledge when treatment is difficult. We adjust based on how families are doing emotionally and practically. Therapy should be empowering, not adding to family burden.

Our Impact

Over our years of operation, we’ve served hundreds of families and helped children achieve meaningful progress. Some of our clients have developed fluent speech when they started nonverbal. Others have dramatically reduced aggressive or self-injurious behaviors. Many have gone from isolated to engaged in peer interaction. All have made progress they and their families are proud of.

More importantly, we’ve created an environment where families feel supported, respected, and hopeful. Parents tell us they finally feel like their child’s needs are truly understood. They appreciate the clear communication, transparent data sharing, and genuine partnership. They feel their family is a team working toward shared goals.

Looking Forward

We’re committed to growing thoughtfully. We want to serve more families while maintaining the quality and family-centered approach that defines us. We invest in our team, stay current with research, expand our service capacity, and continue improving. We’re here for families in our community for the long term. If you’re considering ABA services for your child or looking for a partner in their autism journey, we’d be honored to talk with you. Contact us to learn more about our approach or schedule a consultation.
